Launching this new generation of trains at such an iconic station symbolises what the Thameslink Programme is doing to transform rail travel across London. We have worked closely with our colleagues at Thameslink and Siemens to get the infrastructure ready for these trains to create a more reliable, regular and modern service.

This fleet of brand new trains are custom built, state of the art and come complete with many new features.
Improved passenger information screens are installed throughout the train. They are capable of displaying a wide range of messages and travel advice for passengers in real-time. A massive improvement to the current passenger information which some trains are lacking around the network. They also provide passenger loading information to allow passengers to move down the train to less crowding areas.
It is planned in the near further, to install on-board free WiFi and plug sockets at most seats.
