Following the conversation of London General’s TfL route 453 to New Routemasters this has allowed a large amount of Enviro400 buses to be released. These have been reallocated to routes 68, 468 & X68, which in-turn has released a number of WVL vehicles.
Since April 2014, Go Ahead London (London General) have taken full control of the London operations of Metrobus. - To standardise the bus fleet and replace slightly older vehicles, a replacement programme is underway.
This has seen the start of the Scania Omnidekka withdrawal. OmniDekka's have been the standard double decker bus for Metrobus since August 2002 until 2007.
OmniDekka's can be found on TfL routes: 64, 119, 127, 161, 293, 320, 353, 405 & 654 plus Rail Replacement services from time to time.
A large amount of OmniDekka’s from the 2003/2004 batches have already been transferred to Metrobus’ Crawley depot and can be found on many local routes.
These were all treated to a refurbishment and repainted into the 'Out of London' livery.
