The construction of CrossRail has resulted in a number of transport services being affected in one way or another. The DLR station at
Pudding Mill Lane was on the alignment of the new tracks for CrossRail. This has resulted in the station being relocated a few hundred yards to the South. New bridges and viaducts have been constructed to serve the new station.
The station was officially opened on 28th April 2014.
The new station is built to ‘high capacity specification’ there are large staircases and wide platforms. This is to relieve congestion from Stratford station when major events are on at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park such as music concerts etc.
The new station is ready for three car trains and is fully accessible via lifts.
