TfL Rail
From 31st May 2015 TfL Rail took over the following service from London Liverpool Street to Shenfield via Ilford & Romford.
This is the first stage of Crossrail operations under a temporary brand, TfL Rail which will be making many improvements to the line:
Deep clean all trains and stations
Improve customer information
Improve the reliability of the service
Reduce fare evasion & antisocial behavior
Staff at stations when trains are running
From May 2017, brand new Class 345 trains will be introduced. TfL Rail will be rebranded as ‘CrossRail’ when services are introduced in December 2018. The first service is expected to operate between Abbey Wood & London Paddington via Farringdon. Transport for London Oystercards and Travelcards are valid on the TfL network with special fares to Shenfield.
