London Transport Museum
The London Transport Museum is located in Covent Garden, London.
The Museum has a vast collection of transport related items. These include vehicles, photographs, posters, artwork, ephemera (leaflets, booklets, guides and fare charts), signs, uniforms, maps, vehicle parts, drawings, short film & videos, tickets, models, infrastructure, timetables and equipment (used by staff).
Throughout the museum there are static displays of buses, trolley buses, tube trains, stations signs, display cases of how projects are delivered, monitors showing short films, transport poster displays and exhibitions.
There is a school learning centre were pupils can learn about London’s Transport past and present.
Acton is the storage site that is opened to the public on selected weekends and days throughout the year. You can get hands on with some of the vehicles and sit inside a disused train carriage.
