Greater London Photos (GLP) was established on 22nd December 2004 as a basic photo gallery located on the Fotopic network.

The introduction of the paper bus nets brought attention to the site, as a rare feature on the Internet. Visitor numbers soon grew and the site was receiving on average 1500 photo hits
per day.

In July 2010 an ‘all-time’ photo hit count was conducted with an outstanding 1,764,943 hits!

As the years went on, the site grew at a steady rate with more new collections, photos & paper nets being added.

In late 2010, a series of ‘Focus Collections & Pages’ were developed - concentrating on vehicles & routes that were quite difficult to locate on the Internet. Such as: Wimbledon Tennis &
Mobility Bus Routes.

March 2011 saw the operations of Fotopic.net cease and the decision was made to start
GLP up again from scratch elsewhere.

April 2011 saw the launch of this site! = greaterlondonphotos.co.uk

May 2011 saw the launch of the Focus Section. This is a showcase of pages focusing on; rare routes, shuttles, vehicles and items within the public transport industry.

Many improvements have been implemented to this site including; direct linking, the use of
pop-up photo & paper net galleries, better site navigation and an overall improvement to the look of the site.
